F4U-1D CORSAIR (DEBUT DISPLAY!)
Get ready for the debut airshow display for one of the only flying F4U-1D Corsair’s in the world! An iconic warbird renowned for its distinctive gull wings and fierce performance in the skies, this classic WWII fighter, known as the “Whistling Death,” earned its reputation with unmatched speed, firepower, and agility, becoming a nightmare for enemy pilots. At the Barrington Coast Airshow, you’ll witness the raw power and grace of this historic aircraft as it roars through the sky, reminding us of the bravery and skill of the pilots who flew her in combat.
WOLF PITTS PRO
Paul Bennet’s solo display is 12 mins of high energy, engine screaming precision aerobatics, starting at a height of 3500ft down to ground level! The Wolf Pitts is the highest performing aerobatic biplane in the world with an astonishing 400hp!
ZIVKO EDGE 540
The Zivko Edge 540 is a highly aerobatic aircraft powered by a 350hp Lycoming engine. Capable of a 420 degree per second roll rate and a 3,700 foot per minute climb rate, it has been flown to victory many times in aerobatic competitions and is now synonymous with the air racing series as the base that all other race aircraft are judged. Displayed by one of Australia’s top aerobatic pilots, the display showcases the aircrafts precision and performance that has made this design so popular.
SUPERMARINE MK. VIII SPITFIRE
One of Australia’s newest warbirds will make its debut display at the Barrington Coast Airshow – a gorgeous Mk VIII Spitfire!
The Supermarine Spitfire is an absolutely legendary WWII fighter, renowned for its stunning design, incredible speed and manoeuvrability and of course, its lethality and success as a warbird. Powered by the legendary Merlin engine, the sights and sounds of this old school fighter in action is always an incredible experience to behold.
P-51D MUSTANG
The iconic P-51D Mustang is coming to the Barrington Coast Airshow!
One of the most popular warbirds to ever be built, this is a rare opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of this incredible WWII fighter up close, thanks to the team at Fighter Pilot Adventure Flights. HAWKER SEA FURY
(ONLY FLYING EXAMPLE IN AUS!)
The Hawker Sea Fury was a British fighter aircraft developed for the Royal Navy by Hawker during the Second World War. The last piston-driven fighter to serve with the Royal Navy, it was also one of the fastest production single engine piston driven aircraft ever built reaching a speed of 485 mph. A demilitarized Sea Fury holds the unofficial speed-record for a piston-engined aircraft in level flight at 547 mph.
SKYACES AEROBATIC TEAM
The famous SkyAces perform an array of dazzling formation aerobatics in very close proximity. Not only do the SkyAces performance entail skilful formation loops and rolls but also dynamic head to head stunts, which are guaranteed to leave you speechless!
PIPER CUB / TRUCK LANDING STUNT!
Watch on in amazement as champion pilot Paul Bennet performs an incredible stunt – attempting to land a Piper Cub on the back of a moving Chevy pickup as it races down the runway! This display has become a crowd-favourite wherever Paul and his go!Â
CESSNA O-2 SKYMASTER
The Cessna 02 Skymaster was used by the USAF as a FAC and PSYOPS unit between 1967 and 2010. Nicknamed ‘Oscar Deuce’, it is a distinctive warbird with its unique fore-aft, twin-engine configuration, with high-mounted wings offering excellent field of view for reconnaissance.
CAC WIRRAWAY
The word ‘Wirraway’ is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘Challenge’. The Wirraway was a training and general purpose military aircraft manufactured in Australia, built by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation between 1939 and 1946.
T-28 TROJAN
The T-28 Trojan was a piston- engined military trainer used by the United States Air Force and Navy, beginning in the 1950’s. Besides being a trainer, the T-28 was employed as a counter-insurgency aircraft, primarily during the Vietnam War.
GRUMMAN AVENGER
Whether on the ground or in the air, this aircraft is sure to draw attention wherever it goes! The massive 1942 Grumman Avenger was a torpedo bomber developed initially for the United States Navy and features a unique folding wing arrangement for carrier operations.
CURTISS P-40 KITTYHAWK
With two shy of 12,000 P-40 Warhawks made during WWII, their strength was in the number built. The Kittyhawk was one of two variants operated by the RAF, and two P-40s were the first aircraft valiantly taken up in response to the attack on Pearl Harbour.
